Brief:
Design a bilingual field guide for Cocha Machuwasi, a biodiverse lagoon in Peru's Manu Biosphere Reserve. It covers six taxa — mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, butterflies and plants — for local guides, visitors and schools to use in the field.
Process:
Two text colours separate Spanish from English on the same spread. Three icons mark scientific name, taxonomy and family. Each photo page uses a fixed grid with set positions for the IUCN badge, QR code and footprints at true scale.
Outcome:
182 pages, six colour-coded sections, thumb tabs on the fore-edge. Printed in 1,500 copies and distributed across the southern rainforest regions of Peru, reaching schools, educational institutions and the guides who helped record it. It is also given to visitors of the reserve.
